Another milestone as the New Blue stays REGISTERED!

Thursday, May 18, 2023

Most recently, our team achieved another milestone that will help ensure the New Blue Party of Ontario is around for the long term.

The Election Finances Act mandates that every registered political party that runs official candidates in at least half of Ontario's electoral districts has to implement an electronic database consisting of 69 unique requirements as authorized by Elections Ontario.

After the last election, Elections Ontario gave us a deadline of June 2, 2023 to implement such a database.

For months, we worked diligently to find a custom solution, and recently the New Blue Party received the green light from Elections Ontario authorizing our proposed database.

This is a great relief!

Our team has made considerable effort to ensure we keep up to date with all the requirements imposed by the Ontario government on registered political parties.

The establishment parties like the Doug Ford PC Party, the Ontario Liberals and the Ontario NDP have the benefit of paying themselves millions of dollars of taxpayer money to hire all the professional consultants they need to make sure their parties, constituency associations, and candidates keep up with all the government regulations the establishment parties legislated.

The Doug Ford Ontario PCs have so much money, they can even afford to fund and control politicians and political figures posing as the opposition!

Despite this imbalance, last December we were the first provincial political party to complete all of our financial filings for the 2022 campaign period.  This included financial returns for the New Blue Party as well as 124 New Blue constituency associations and 124 New Blue candidates.

In a couple of weeks, another set of financial returns for the party and our 124 constituency associations are due and we are well on our way in ensuring those filings are completed.

For the New Blue, the Ontario government requirements on political parties are a cumbersome burden that requires us to dedicate time and resources.

All of this amounts to a lot of government mandated red tape that is not just tedious but also increases our costs.

But we have no other choice if we want to ensure the New Blue sticks around for the long term.

The alternative would result in Elections Ontario administering fines, deregistering the New Blue Party or New Blue constituency associations, or barring prior New Blue candidates from running again. This is exactly what happened to new parties at the federal and the provincial level over the last couple of years.

To ensure the New Blue Party grows, we have to make sure we don't get deregistered!

And in staying registered by keeping up with the burdensome red tape requirements, we continue to demonstrate to Ontarians with action, and not just words, that the New Blue Party is here to stay!

The New Blue Party of Ontario will keep moving forward and continue to challenge the left, balance the narrative, and change the course!

Thank you so much for your support.
