Ford & Trudeau: Partners in Unsustainable Immigration
Tuesday, November 5, 2024
The Trudeau Liberals have driven Canada’s immigration numbers to unsustainable levels for too long, with only two goals in mind: propping up a faltering economy through population growth and pushing a left-wing ideological agenda.
Doug Ford has supported Justin Trudeau every step of the way.
Recently, the Trudeau government was forced to slow immigration levels due to mounting public pressure and economic instability.
Canadians have had enough, and reality has forced the Trudeau government to reverse course.
But guess which party and government thinks reality should be ignored?
Doug Ford and the Ontario PCs!
That’s right. The Ford PCs are in favour of continued mass immigration to Ontario at unsustainable rates.
On October 24, Ontario PC Labour Minister David Piccini lamented that the federal government has “shattered” the “consensus around immigration” in Canada by cutting the number of new permanent residents visas to be approved in Canada down to 485,000 this year and to 395,000 in 2025.
Piccini said that the decision was made without input from the provinces, and that he “fundamentally disagrees” with cuts to the provincial nominee program.
Instead of recognizing the need for balance and sustainability, the Ford PCs continue to push an agenda that prioritizes mass immigration while overlooking the pressing concerns of Ontarians regarding housing and infrastructure.
To deflect from their position, the Ford PCs recently announced that they will effectively bar international students from Ontario’s medical schools starting in 2026. This move is merely a PR tactic, as international students make up less than one percent of medical school enrollments in the province. In the 2023-2024 academic year, only 10 out of 3,833 medical students in Ontario were international, representing just 0.26% of the total student body.
It’s time for a real conservative alternative in Ontario.
The New Blue Party is the only true and blue option on the provincial ballot.
Our vision is clear: an Ontario government that stands up to the Trudeau Liberals, not one that shares their left wing ideology.
That means pushing to slow the current rate of immigration so that we can focus on protecting the economic well-being of the people already living here and ensuring our infrastructure can support growth.
