In March, I debated against Bill 100 (the Ford PC's most recent attack on the right to protest in Ontario) and voted "no" on second reading, along with three other MPPs - Roman Baber, Mike Schreiner, and Lindsey Park.

We were the only MPPs in the legislature to vote against Bill 100 at second reading when very few were discussing the bill. Together, we raised awareness of the negative impacts of Bill 100.

Last week, the Ford PCs passed Bill 100 on an unrecorded voice vote after regular sitting hours, without giving all MPPs notice.

It was a disturbingly undemocratic method of rushing through an equally undemocratic piece of legislation.

Bill 100 is the Ford PC's way of turning the emergency measures used against truckers involved in the Ottawa convoy into permanent law.

Not only do the powers contained in Bill 100 put a chill on political demonstration in Ontario - they are completely unnecessary.  

The Ford PCs have been determined to please Justin Trudeau and become the Ontario wing of the federal Trudeau Liberal Party.  Bill 100 is just the latest example. 

Our platform - the New Blueprint - calls for a complete repeal of the Doug Ford PCs COVID-19 related mandates and emergency measures including Bill 100 and any of their plans for digital ID.
