On Monday, federal Liberal MP Chrystia Freeland announced her resignation from Parliament to become an "economic advisor" to Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
A truly terrible choice by Zelenskyy!
I would like to say that not even the Liberal-loving Ontario PCs will miss Chrystia Freeland’s presence in Canadian politics, but that just wouldn’t be true.
Doug Ford and Chrystia Freeland haven’t just been close political allies — they are good friends.
In a 2025 Politico interview, Doug Ford gushed that he has "an incredible relationship with Chrystia," and that they "went through a lot of battles together."
