Is Mark Carney More Conservative Than Doug Ford’s PCs?
This week, Liberal Prime Minister Mark Carney paused the federal EV sales mandate — the same one Justin Trudeau brought in to force automakers into sales quotas for electric vehicles.
Instead of pushing back when Trudeau unveiled his “mandatory target” that all new passenger vehicle sales be electric by 2035, the Doug Ford Progressives agreed to spend Ontarians’ hard-earned money to virtue signal.
How is it that Mark Carney, a Liberal Prime Minister, is more cautious about pushing EVs than Doug Ford and the Ontario PCs?
The answer is clear: because the Ontario PC Party is corrupt beyond redemption. They no longer stand for conservative principles or blue voters in Ontario.
While Ottawa has put the brakes on EV mandates, Doug Ford and his PC government have been busy handing out billions of your tax dollars to EV manufacturers and multinational corporations:
- $5 billion in subsidies for Volkswagen’s EV “gigafactory” in St. Thomas.
- $500 million for Stellantis and LG Energy in Windsor.
- $471 million to Honda Canada for its EV assembly project in Alliston.
This is what Doug Ford calls “economic growth.”
We call it what it is: corporate welfare, paid for by Ontarians.
These handouts, intrusive “green” energy schemes, and the corruption that runs the Ontario PC Party are just some of the reasons why we created the New Blue Party of Ontario.
