The Government Wants You Distracted
Last week, the Ontario PC government passed Bill 33 — a law that hands Doug Ford’s cabinet and every future Ontario government even more control over school boards and the trustees who sit on them.
Yet at the same time, PC-friendly advocacy groups are telling pro-life, grassroots conservatives that running for trustee is the best way to make a difference.
Why?
Because they know something they won’t say out loud:
Running for trustee poses no threat to Ontario’s political establishment.
The vast majority of trustee positions are dominated by left-wing activists. And even when a conservative manages to win, the Ontario government can fire them and take over the board anyway — now more easily than ever.
PC-connected advocacy groups need to keep true blue supporters “politically active” without risking anyone organizing against the mainstream political parties — especially their friends in the Ontario PC Party.
So they steer good people into school board campaigns that go nowhere, instead of challenging the party that’s actually in power.
The New Blue is the only party in Ontario willing to say it.
