Worse than Wynne?
Doug Ford once called Kathleen Wynne’s spending “reckless.”
Well, the PCs’ 2026 budget is out, and the results are in.
2018 Ontario Liberal deficit: $3.7 billion
Current Ontario PC deficit: $13.8 billion
And the promise to balance the budget?
Every year, the Ford PCs push it further out. Now they’re promising it will come in the 2028–29 fiscal year.
These delays alone will add $33.4 billion in new debt.
What a massive step backward.
As Matthew Lau writes in the Financial Post:
“The McGuinty-Wynne government's tax, borrow and spend policies — which impoverished Ontario and made the province an economic laggard — remain. In fact, under Doug Ford, they have gotten worse.”
The Ford PCs didn’t fix the problem.
They became the problem.
After nearly a decade in power, the Ontario PC Party has delivered larger deficits than the Liberals and no serious tax relief.
If we want lower spending, lower taxes, and basic accountability, it’s clear:
We are not going to get it from the Ontario PC Party.
Moreover, trying to “fix” the PCs “from the inside” has resulted in the backroom boys continuously using corrupt, undemocratic, and underhanded tactics to come after grassroots party members.
So we have to build the solution ourselves:
A NEW and BLUE party, not beholden to the lobbyists and the left-wing ideologues that run the establishment.
