Re:  Response to your March 7th offer to broker a secret backroom deal

We, the New Blue Party of Ontario, have always opposed backroom deals and criticize politicians like Doug Ford, Justin Trudeau, Erin O’Toole, and yourself, for engaging in them.  It was easy for the founding board of the New Blue Party to unanimously agree to reject your offer to broker a backroom deal that you have since made public.

Our party is rooted in integrity, transparency, and democracy.  We appreciate opportunities to affirm and have others affirm our core values like you did.

The New Blue Party is comprised of thousands of members and donors, 114 riding associations, and 112 candidates (12 short of a full slate).  Thank you for admitting that 18 months after we started, you decided to contact us with a desire to broker a secret backroom deal designed to help the Doug Ford PCs by robbing New Blue Party members and supporters of the opportunity to vote for their party on June 2nd. 

The Sloan-Nicholls gang and its PC operatives and PC sympathizers continue to engage in schemes and backroom arrangements that enable the progressive establishment – most recently voting with the Doug Ford PCs in favour of Critical Race Theory for our schools.  

You and your co-conspirators have made careers out of such arrangements, like your deal with Erin O’Toole during the 2020 Conservative leadership and like your team’s involvement in the rigged PC executive election at the 2018 PC Convention.

Your desire for brokering secret backroom deals and undemocratic schemes is contrary to our commitment to promote grassroots democracy and to remain accountable to our party’s principles and our party membership.
