4 years later... vaccine passports still in Ontario
On September 22, 2021, after unsuccessfully lobbying Trudeau for a Canada-wide COVID vaccine passport, the Doug Ford PCs imposed their own on Ontarians.
This vaccine passport system barred over two million Ontarians from restaurants, fitness centres, event spaces, theatres, concerts, and even taxpayer-owned venues.
Four years later, the Ford PCs are still allowing hospitals and colleges across the province to use COVID-19 vaccination as the basis to turn away students and workers.
With a majority government, the Ontario PCs have the power to ban the use of their COVID-19 vaccine passport system entirely.
But they won’t, because they have transitioned into a arm of the federal Liberal government.
The New Blue Party of Ontario remains opposed to mandatory vaccination policies, whether they are implemented by government or businesses.
And we will continue to push for legislation and fines that protect the jobs and access rights of all Ontarians, regardless of vaccination status.
The New Blue is Ontario’s only provincial party with a grassroots policy process.
