Ford’s Fake “Job Creation” = EVs Nobody’s Buying
Ever since Trudeau’s EV mandate was first unveiled in 2021, we’ve been warning Ontarians that the Ford PCs’ handouts to EV producers were a waste of taxpayer money — and now the proof is right in front of us.
The state of cities like Windsor are a striking example of the PCs’ virtue-signalling imprudence.
The corporate welfare isn’t working.
Last year, the Ford PCs handed over half a billion taxpayer dollars to Stellantis and LG Energy in Windsor to prop up their EV battery plant. The result? One of the highest job-loss regions in the province.
EV registrations are down.
Despite all the money poured into EV production, new zero-emission vehicle registrations in Ontario dropped 18.6% in the second quarter compared to the same time last year.
Ontario is losing jobs.
According to a recent Statistics Canada report, our province lost 26,000 jobs last month alone — 66,000 since February. Windsor and other metropolitan areas continue to see unemployment rise.
Doug Ford and the PCs are once again failing Ontario.
Instead of attracting manufacturing back to our province organically by reducing taxes and red tape, they’re giving away billions in corporate handouts… and it’s not working.
Ontario needs jobs based on real demand, not ones that disappear when the government funding ends.
The New Blue is Ontario’s only party fighting to axe the Ford PCs’ provincial carbon tax on industry, take down the wind turbines to lower hydro rates, and slash the HST.
