Ford Progressives’ Dirty Deal with the Toronto Star
Four years ago, the Toronto Star published one of the most dehumanizing front pages in Canadian history.
You might remember it:
Just months prior to this, the Star was on the verge of bankruptcy.
Who came to their rescue?
None other than Doug Ford and his so-called “Progressive Conservatives.”
In early 2021, Ford’s PCs handed TorStar a $500 million online gambling license—a golden parachute disguised as “policy.”
Then Doug Ford put the Toronto Star's lobbyist—a former top staffer to then Liberal Premier Dalton McGuinty—in charge of it all as the head of the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Commission.
Can you believe it?
Federally, we have the Liberals funding the establishment left-wing media.
Provincially, the Ford PCs found their own way to once again emulate the federal Liberals by funding the largest anti-taxpayer, anti-freedom, anti-faith, big government left-wing newspaper in the country, the Toronto Star.
While everyday Ontarians lost their businesses, livelihoods, and freedoms under the longest COVID-19 lockdowns in North America, the Ford PCs were busy making sure their friends got paid.
The result?
A deeper addiction crisis across Ontario.
Lobbyists cashing in while families were torn apart.
A government working for the insiders—not for you.
The New Blue Party supports a free press using the powers of provincial jurisdiction.
We will defund the Toronto Star by revoking their online gambling license.
