New Blue alumni win across Ontario

On Monday, Ontarians voted in municipal elections across the province, and members of the New Blue family were on the ballot from Welland to Timmins.

Four of them are now in office:

Dave Brunelle beat the incumbent to become Mayor of Tiny Township, with 3,515 votes.

Rhonda Jubenville topped the race for Chatham-Kent Ward 4 with 1,436 votes.

Helen Shwery won Cambridge Ward 1 with 1,958 votes.

Aaron Albano took a seat in Welland Ward 5 with 906 votes.

Two more came within striking distance. Norm Costello earned 1,376 votes to the winner's 1,612 in Barrie Ward 9, and Brent Fellman finished second in Bradford West Gwillimbury Ward 6.

We're also proud of Luca Mele, Andy Fisher, John Teat, Stephen Kitras, Victor Brassard, Dave Farrell, Audrey Simpson, Matt Millar, Susan Stevenson, Jimmy Jackson, Anthony Internicola and Gus Prokos, who all put their names forward.

Running for office takes courage, time and sacrifice. These are people who believe government should answer to the people it serves, and they took that belief into their own communities.

Help us keep building a party that answers to its supporters instead of to political insiders, lobbyists, and the media.
