13 Reasons I Won't Be at Ford Fest Today

Earlier this week I received an email from Doug Ford, announcing that the annual “Ford Fest” is taking place today—Friday the 13th.

Unfortunately for Doug Ford, I happen to be one of many Ontarians who see him for what he really is.

Since becoming premier in 2018, through the COVID-19 lockdowns, and now amidst the latest panic over U.S. tariffs, Ford and the Ontario PCs have shown their true colours—and they aren’t blue.

I won’t be attending Doug Ford’s gathering this year. But if I did, I’d make sure every Ford supporter I met heard these 13 facts about his PC government. Over the next few weeks, we’ll be unpacking each one in detail through our emails.

1. The Ontario PCs love deficits.

2. The Ontario PC Party has been pro-carbon tax since 2015.

3. The Ford PCs are champions of woke-ism.

4. They abused emergency powers during COVID-19.

5. Ford broke his promise to lower hydro rates.

6. Their corporate welfare schemes for EVs failed spectacularly.

7. They continue to ignore Ontario’s opioid crisis.

8. No one cozies up to the federal Liberals more than Doug Ford.

9. They wasted $189 million taxpayer dollars on an unnecessary winter election.

10. They reneged on their promise to divest from wind and solar.

11. They’ve done nothing meaningful to address rising crime.

12. They refuse to fix Ontario’s overwhelmed health care system.

13. After seven years of failure, they just gave themselves a 35% pay raise.

Doug Ford and the Ontario PCs have broken every major promise they made since 2018. Now, Ontarians are staring down a “modest recession.”

Instead of championing conservative values, the Ford PCs abandoned them.

Instead of embracing Ontario’s culture and history, they undermined them.

Instead of investing in the next generation, they invested in their lobbyist friends.

It’s for these thirteen reasons you won’t see me at Ford Fest today.
