Budget Day: A New Chapter in PC Recklessness
Today, the Ontario PCs will table their latest provincial budget.
If history tells us anything, it is this:
Do not expect fiscal responsibility.
Under the Ford Progressives, Ontario’s government spending has skyrocketed—even higher than during the peak of the McGuinty-Wynne Liberal era.
According to a recent report by the Fraser Institute, the Ontario PCs have presided over the “second- and third-highest levels of program spending (on a per-person basis, after adjusting for inflation) in Ontario history—even after you exclude emergency spending during COVID.”
Doug Ford loves to use conservative rhetoric at the podium. But when it comes time to govern, he might as well be Kathleen Wynne.
• The Ford PCs have added $86 billion to Ontario’s debt since taking office in 2018.
• The Ford government will spend over $1 billion per month on interest payments alone this fiscal year.
• For the past eight years, Ontario has held the title of most indebted sub-sovereign government in the world—seven of those years under PC majority rule.
So what can we expect from today’s budget?
More photo ops.
More tax-and-spend politics.
More proof the PC Party has become the new Ontario arm of the federal Liberals.
But with your support, the New Blue Party will keep fighting for accountability—offering Ontarians a viable, true blue alternative.
We are committed to restoring fiscal responsibility—so future generations aren’t saddled with the debt of today’s reckless spending.
And we will continue building the New Blue to challenge the left, balance the narrative, and change the course.
