Ford's "Green" Energy Revival: More Liberal Policy
You might remember that in 2018, Doug Ford promised to dismantle the failed green energy policies that crippled Ontario under the Wynne Liberals.
Now, the Ford PCs are quietly bringing those policies back — and it’s Ontarians who will pay the price.
Here’s what’s happening:
Wind and Solar Procurement is Back
The Ontario PCs have launched the largest wind and solar expansion since the Green Energy Act. This means more unreliable, intermittent energy and higher hydro bills that the Ford government will artificially lower with taxpayer subsidization.
Embracing Carney’s Net-Zero Agenda
Rather than focusing on energy affordability for Ontario households, the Ford government has drafted long-term energy plans centred on “green” energy exports and climate optics. Once again, the Ontario PC elites are prioritizing lobbyist interests and left-wing ideology over the needs of taxpayers and ratepayers.
We’ve seen all this before.
Skyrocketing electricity bills, only lowered by subsidies that drive Ontario deeper into debt.
Rural communities forced to accept wind farms they didn’t ask for.
And billions in handouts to consultants and insiders.
Seven years ago, the Ontario PCs campaigned as conservatives. Now they are nothing but Progressives — governing exactly like the Wynne Liberals.
