Our Long-Term Goal
Earlier this week, we told you the Ford PCs have the exact same big government spending habits as the McGuinty-Wynne Liberals before them.
Under the PCs’ watch, our net debt has risen by $121 billion.
Interest on the debt has ballooned to $1.3 billion per month—a 28% increase since they took office in 2018.
These interest payments will surpass all spending on social services and become the third-largest line item in the budget by 2030 if the current projections continue.
The astronomical spending must be curbed, for the sake of future generations.
But we know it will not happen while Ontario’s establishment PCs, Liberals, or NDP are in power.
While these parties criticize each other in public, they make backroom deals in private.
They have no interest in ever lowering spending or taxes.
And without a real threat from the right, the PCs know that they can be as liberal as they like without repercus sion.
The New Blue Party will be that threat, with a long-term goal of replacing the Ontario PC Party altogether.
The upcoming provincial by-elections in York-Simcoe and Scarborough Southwest are an opportunity to send a message to the establishment.
As in every election since the New Blue Party’s founding, we will be running candidates.
