What is the Ford PCs’ "Skills Development Fund" really "funding"? In a scathing report by Ontario's Auditor General, the real motivation of this astronomical waste of taxpayer money has been revealed — it is simply a slush fund used as a tool by the Ford PCs to enrich their well-connected lobbyist friends.

Why did Monte McNaughton—Doug Ford’s Labour Minister, responsible for handing out millions from the Skills Development Fund—suddenly resign from caucus in 2023? In March 2023, Dentacloud, a dental brokerage, received more than $2 million from the Skills Development Fund. At that time, Dentacloud’s CEO was working closely with McNaughton’s wife and president of the Canadian Federation of Dentistry.

Last week, Doug Ford’s PC Minister of Education, Paul Calandra, ordered the Dufferin-Peel CDSB to fly the orange flag at schools on “Truth and Reconciliation” Day — against the wishes of local school trustees. Previously, local school trustees voted that only the Canadian, Ontario, or school board flags would be flown.
