Doug Ford is proposing to give Ontario teachers taxpayer-funded purchasing cards to buy classroom supplies. According to the Ontario government, there are 128,430 full-time equivalent teachers in publicly funded schools. Is this fiscal responsibility?

Last Saturday, electricity rates in Ontario jumped 29% under the Doug Ford PCs — the same government that promised in 2018 to cut hydro bills by 12%. To mask the true cost, the Ford government increased the Ontario Electricity Rebate from approximately 13.1% to 23.5%. But of course, that doesn’t address the root of the problem; it just shifts the burden from ratepayers to taxpayers.
