Prosecutors that work for the Ontario government that is run by Doug Ford’s PC Party are seeking the maximum penalty of seven years against Tamara Lich and Chris Barber for their role in "holding the line" at the Freedom Convoy. Yes, you read that correctly. Those are not prosecutors that work for the federal Liberal government.

Five years ago, a line was drawn. On July 21, 2020, Cambridge MPP Belinda Karahalios took a historic stand in the Ontario Legislature. She was the only Ontario PC MPP to vote against Bill 195, Doug Ford’s authoritarian lockdown legislation.

Doug Ford’s PC Party is changing the rules to push through a landfill expansion near Dresden, in the riding of Lambton–Kent–Middlesex, and reward their friends. Thousands of residents contacted their PC MPP, Steve Pinsonneault, to voice their opposition to the plan. He told them he was against it.

Last week, the Ford PCs announced two “Memorandums of Understanding” with the Alberta government — non-binding documents that amount to little more than political theatre. These MOUs commit Ontario to nothing. They are not legally binding, and don’t deliver a single tangible result for Ontarians.
